Excuse My Allusions, Part Deux
For part one, please check this out.
Well, since I have posted a part one, it only goes that I should be following that up with a part two. Knowing how my mind works in the AADHD cloud of disconnectivity (I think that's right, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong) I am having a total bitch of a time connecting parts one and two as to have them flow. I wanted (desperately) to have a Kill Bill moment but, I strongly believe, I am going to have a Teenwolf pair that have nothing to do with one another. But, I think that now is the time to throw caution to the wind (cliché) and trudge forth (hoping that there isn't another one waiting in the wings. Come to think of it, I may just write another part two. We'll see.)

When I was in high school, mullet wearing guys paired their favorite torn acid washed Levi's with the black concert t-shirts of their favorite metal bands. Strolling through the halls was like seeing a map of the Slovakian states, you had the hardcore metalheads with their Megadeth & Slayer alliances worn proudly on their chests. Hair from all directs bobbed (almost in unison) as they discussed who shredded more and who had the fastest riffs. Although they would deny it, they were geeks through and through. They proclaimed that their metal was the real metal. Real die-hards. I think their motto was “death before conformity” (if it wasn't, it certainly should have been). A bit further down the hall, you could see the hair metal faction sporting their Bon Jovi and Poison tees. Not geeks, per se. Girls were even allowed in this country. Actually, their citizenry was even encouraged. These would be the same guys (and gals) that would soon shed their colors in favor of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and further on down the road, Creed and Nickelback. The brave countrymen of Obscurity sported shirts of Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction, the Sugar Cubes, Guns 'N Roses (before the became popular. “Patience”), the Cure and other off the beaten path bands that most of everyone had never heard of. I don't think that most of them knew very much of these bands either. They liked the fact that nobody had heard of these bands and thus, they convey the very counterculture they wanted to rail against and thumb their noses at everyone else.
As radical and nonconformist these rock and roll rebels wanted to be, they could never top the middle finger to us all that was represented by the son on my physics teacher, Mr. N________. His name escapes me at this moment. I could easily insert “Todd”, “Chad” or “James” into this loosely held together story, but, it wouldn't add any value, what-so-ever. So, with an entire school filled with wanna be's, only one stood out to me as being the lone wolf (I tried hard to come up with something but I fell to using something that is quickly becoming tired). It didn't come to me at the time, it was something that came with age and wisdom. Anyways, said character was the true deal as he strode the halls of high school proudly wearing his Richard Marx concert t. Mocked behind his back, kids pointed, laughed and snickered in their own little cliques. Yet, he held his head high as if to say “This is what I like and fuck you.” Total nonconformity. It makes me smile. Although I never knew him, I consider him to be a personal high school hero.
To him I say, hold on to the night.
